History :

"Major Varadarajan hailed from Tambaram near Chennai and had completed his Bachelors in Commerce as well as a diploma in journalism. His grandfather and two uncles also served in the army motivating him further to serve his country. During the operation, Major Varadarajan displayed extraordinary courage and valor for which he recieved the Ashoka Chakra posthumously. He is survived by his wife and daughter."
