RE-UNITE
Sare Jahan Se Acha Foundation is a registered non-profit company working towards spreading goodness. Currently, we are working on show casing Unsung Hero’s stories on a web portal, Technical care giving for Dementia patients and promoting a Spit Free India.
As part of spreading goodness, Project Re-unite is a web-based application that is meant to be an online searchable database of Missing and Found persons. As the name suggests, it aims to be an enabler in re-uniting families with their lost loved ones. This android based application is targeted at concerned citizens who can use this app to report or search the online database.
Re-unite can be used in any of the following ways:
- As a means to report a missing or a found person including an image for easier identification and matching. Typically, families or friends who have reported as missing their loved ones can use Re-unite to report the missing person. They can also search the database for found persons to see if their loved one has been found somewhere.
- Similarly, if a person is found his details can be posted.
- As a means to search for missing and found persons that have been reported. If any person is found, a quick search on the database can tell you if the person has already been reported as missing.
Potential key users could be Police Department, Hospital authorities and Concerned Citizens. There is no restriction on any entry fields, as such anybody within India or outside (only English) can use this application.
Future plans
Re-unite plans to build the following capabilities in the near future:
- Ability to print posters for printing and sharing.
- Facebook, Twitter and Google+ integration.
- Face-matching features to automatically match missing and found entries.
